"Hello again!"

'Unfortunately it's been a while... Updates were on hold, fortunately lots a things and a great summer has gone by'

In the early spring (April) i was in Costa Rica, surfing (Punta Banco near Pavonnes, Pacific Ocean, Central America). Summer here in the Netherlands and some surf days in the north of France, Normandie. Here in the studio further proces continued, new concepts, ongoing projects and things on the house, garden and surf whenever the possibilties were there (a lot!).

Behind the house we have a little garden, where we were already having some plants, but this year Marije also started experimenting with 'a little vegetable garden', so we ate our own Rucola Salad, Radish and all kinds of different spices. It's really fun to see how it grows! But beware of the caterpillars, cause they love it too!

Here's the update on the boards i designed for 'Bataleon'. MrB in blue is holding the Riot and Funkink.
Now summer is ending and winter is in sight, the products will be in store hopefully somewhere near you.
Anyway i'm ... stoked on the results, they look really really nice. Just love the materials, coatings and printing. Probably and hopefully other designs will be used in the near future!

As seen below, the graphics that were used for the boards come from several works from before exhibitions.
At the last one (Route du Nord) i presented a series of silkscreen prints (small edition 6/6), and two zerox prints (unlimited).
They created some nice reactions and interest and also some got sold!

UFO

No matter how cold it gets, keep on being attracted by these kind funny colored collections, larger quantities, seeing how random the colors are seperated, divided, spread, the multiple directions of the objects, like five colors, including grey and black. Also i use views like this for my research towards my works now in single, duo, tripl, quadra tones. Suggesting material where there's no material. Dimensions, colors that seem to be in the back, but actually are in the front. Spatialness and layeredness of colors as material, shaped into collection of forms. Investigating 'Unidentified Forms and Objects'.

COLD START

Hope you all had nice Xmass days and here by my best wishes to you for 2009!'
With all these days of good and nice things, the time flys and lots a other things slow down,
but now i'm also happy to continue where left and work back in a daily rhythm.

Just around the corner from where i live there's this water and like you see it's cold, freezing, brrr. Still, last friday i was in the water for surf. Unfortunatly the session's getting shorter, but the Surf's still Up!
Quess it's been about eight years, this water has been closed by ice.
In the summer it's allways nice to go for a swim for some refreshment, but now i'm ready to skate it, hope it will come to that.... In the old days used to skate the ice hockey's, but now i'm doing the long distance speed style on 'Noren'. Ride in a small group of three and change head, keeping up the pace!

SABRINA

Yesterday was a nice relaxing day. 9 am Hoek van Holland. It's getting a little cold now. This place is allways nice when there's not too much wind, most likely offshore. The closest spot near where i live. No traffic time! Unfortunatly missed it today, when i woke up and looking at the Scheveningen webcam some leftovers were still coming in.... next time!

DAYS AFTER

Nice one! Thanks to all who came to visit! Hope you liked it!
Now Moose is running, i can pick other things up again.
When being asked to for this show, at that time i was also in a proces.
Some of these works I decided to use and others had to be set on a hold for the next occasion (maybe somwhere March).
But some are now in the 'Moose' exhibition.
Later more of this will be presented here or in the 'works' file,
For now a little break should be in the right place, cause at the same time i want to pick things up an go on where i left em.
But the last days were double ones....
Thursday and Friday some surf was in the weather forcast,
most of the time these are pretty accurate!!!

NEW THINGS

Some weeks ago i was chekkin out some features about the website, so this is the point where i started to them and thats why i started about code in the first line. So probably some things might change again here and there. At the same time some new works, silkscreen prints in minimal edtion were in proces. Then 'Moose Gallerie' asked if i wanted to do the opening exhibition, wich was an opportunity again to present these...
Wich also means that at this point in time things are a little hectic (unforseen... Cause i want to finish also some other pieces that were in the line! And how will all be one... So it's gonna be Exciting again, the results will be here, later.

As things go on, the standard set up gets to kind of particular comparing it to just pen, paper. Nowadays drawing a line, could be cutting a line or making a line is taking away a line! Even enter some code in the computer might bring the character of line, needed.
